In My Own Words
I’ve always written across different worlds — not because I couldn’t decide what kind of writer to be, but because the stories kept arriving in different forms and I kept saying yes to them.
The Days of Dark Sky Series started as a question: what if the supernatural wasn’t somewhere else? What if angels and demons were operating right here, in our world, and most of us just weren’t paying close enough attention? That question became Dante. That became seven books I couldn’t not write.
Love Isn’t Love started differently — as a reckoning, not a question. Something I needed to say about what love asks of us, what it has no right to take, and the 88 forms it actually takes versus the forms we were handed. I wrote it because I needed it. I published it because I think other people do too.
And the writing guide? That came from watching people with real books inside them stop short of the door because nobody told them where it was. I wrote the book I wish someone had handed me when I first started.
Three very different books. One common thread: I write what I can’t stop thinking about, in whatever form it demands.

C.J. Pizzurro is the author of the Days of Dark Sky Series, a seven-book dark fantasy saga exploring angels, demons, and the supernatural operating alongside humans in our world. The series opens with Dante & the Dark Seed and Dante & the Council of the Trinity, both available now, with Dante & the Voidwalker forthcoming. Pizzurro is also the author of Love Isn’t Love: 88 Ways to Love Yourself and Others (June 28, 2025), a devotional self-help work on love and identity, and Unpublished to Published: A Six-Step Guide to Becoming a Published Author, a craft guide for first-time writers.
